The career progression for an Electro Technical Officer follows a structured path:
Completion of a 4-month specialized program training, including a mandatory 4 STCW course approved by D.G. Shipping, Govt. of India.
Join as a Junior Electro Technical Officer on board a ship with a monthly salary ranging from $900 to $2000.
With further experience, candidates are promoted to the position of Electro Technical Officer on board a ship, commanding a salary between $2000 and $5000.
Eligibility Criteria for ETO Course:
- Possession of a B.E/B.TECH (EEE) degree from a college recognized by AICTE, with a minimum of 50% marks in the final year and 50% in English in 10th / 10+2 / Degree.
- Medical and physical fitness.
- 6/6 eye vision, with no color blindness.
- Age within the range of 18-25 years.
Certificates Issued After ETO Course in India:
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded certificates, including the STCW course certificate. These certificates are issued by the academy and approved by the Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. The certificates render candidates eligible to join merchant ships as Trainee Electrical Officers. Additionally, candidates receive INDOS and CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate), valuable for seafarer identification.
