Admission Process At RJ Shipping Services
The administration of merchant navy education in India has been centralized under the Indian Maritime University, which now oversees the admission processes. At RJ Shipping Services, the admission process follows the outlined procedure:
- INITIAL SCREENING:The first step is to submit your documents [10/12th Marksheet, Last Qualification Mark Sheet, Address Proof, Age Proof, and Passport Size Photo] for screening to determine your eligibility for the courses.
- COUNSELLING:After the screening process, if deemed eligible for Merchant Navy courses, you will undergo counseling to enroll in the program. Completing the enrollment form is necessary to secure your seat.
- MEDICAL: Before commencing your training at RJ Shipping Services, you will undergo medical examinations.
- ADMISSION:If your medical results meet the requirements and eligibility criteria, you will be required to take admission for the selected course or department by submitting the fees on the given date.
- REPORTING:After admission, you will be instructed to report to the campus to commence your Merchant Navy Training.
- TRAINING:The training program aims to equip merchant navy aspirants with the necessary skills to work on ships and provides comprehensive knowledge for the same.
- CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION:Upon successful completion of the training, you will receive authorized certificates and documents, facilitating job opportunities on ships.
- Admission through Entrance Exams and Merit:For technical courses in Merchant Navy, entrance exams such as IMU CET are conducted. Some colleges also admit students based on their 12th class marks.
Sponsorship-Based Entry: Candidates can apply for sponsorships at maritime institutes initiated by shipping companies. Sponsorship to go on a ship is granted by the applying company upon completing a course at their institute.
Lateral Entry (LE) into 2nd year of Marine Engineering: Direct admission into the second year of marine engineering programs is possible through two pathways:
- Completing the first year of engineering with a minimum of 60%.
- Pursuing a diploma in electrical, mechanical, marine, or ship-building engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
